How is this different from Seoul's free medical interpretation?
If you live, work or study in Seoul, you can use the Seoul Metropolitan Government's Donghaeng Medical Interpretation Support Team free of charge. It is worth checking whether you qualify; when timing, area or language do not fit, WeBring Care is the alternative.
Seoul Donghaeng Medical Interpretation Support Team (free)
10 languages (Chinese, Russian, Vietnamese, Mongolian, English, Khmer, Japanese, Thai, Hindi, Urdu), 43 interpreters. For foreign residents living, working or studying in Seoul; apply on the Seoul Global Portal at least 3 days before the appointment (excluding holidays). Surgery, hospitalisation and serious diagnoses take priority; up to 4 hours per visit, 4 visits per person per year, weekdays 9–18. Enquiries: Eastern Foreign Resident Center 070-4523-1394 (launched 7 May 2025, per Seoul press release).
When WeBring Care is the right choice
You are outside Seoul, you need someone within 3 days, you have used your 4 free visits, or you need a language the free service does not cover (WeBring supports 13 languages). Apply in 30 seconds at care.webring.kr; matching results arrive by SMS. Fees depend on duration and area and are confirmed at matching.
How the two relate
WeBring Care is supplied to the Eastern Foreign Resident Center. If you qualify for the free programme, it is worth considering too; when timing, area or language do not fit, use WeBring Care.
